Deb Mitchelmore
Beginning her career in SA, playing a leading role in Neil Armfield’s Frankie, Deb has worked extensively as a vocalist, actor, dancer, voice artist, choreographer, director, musical director, voice teacher and performance coach within the Australian theatre and television industry for over 25 years. Her performance credits in theatre include playing Maria Elena Holly in Buddy – the Buddy Holly Story, Karen – (Peter Allen’s Trio) in the original cast of The Boy From Oz, Little Red Riding Hood in Into The Woods, Jeannie in Hair and Betsy in Sweet Charity. She played supporting roles and understudied the lead in, The Man From Snowy River Arena Spectacular, Little Shop Of Horrors, A Chorus Line, The Rocky Horror Show, The Irish And How They Got That Way, and Piano Men. She was also a member of the highly acclaimed girl groups The Harlettes and The Funky Divas who supported the legendary Barry White on his Australian Tour. Choreography, Direction and Musical Direction credits include, Hair as assistant director/choreographer to both David Atkins and Jason Coleman, and Resident Director for the original Santa’s Kingdom. Deb continues to work for Jason Coleman as Music Consultant and Musically Directs various corporate events. She has choreographed for Absolutely Not! Entertainment, Conrad and Co., The Funky Divas and The Super Supremes. For eight years, after becoming a Mum to her two beautiful girls, Deb ran her own Corporate Entertainment Company – Bodacious Productions. The primary act, The Super Supremes, performed regularly both nationally and internationally for many high profile events and were also featured on 60 minutes. Due to her enormous experience, Deb has become one of the country’s leading vocal and performance coaches, working with established and upcoming artists. She is currently the Full Time Course & Vocal Director at Jason Coleman’s Ministry of Dance and is the head tutor for the Full Time Musical Theatre Course. She has also taught for Brent Street Studios and DTN in Sydney. Deb continues to work extensively as a session vocalist and voice over artist creating voices for organizations such as Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, Warner Bros, Disney Live, Grayboy Entertainment, Upbeat Productions and The Entertainment Store. She is the licensed voice of Ben 10 and Gwen from Ben 10 Smurfette, and Blossom (The Power Puff Girls), for their live shows to name a few. Deb has also made numerous television appearances including playing Jess Webster on The Surgeon and The Iron Man. She also featured regularly as a vocalist on Good Morning Australia, Mornings with KerriAnne, The Midday Show and IMT and has appeared in over 20 commercials. Deb hopes to inspire her students whilst passing on her vast knowledge of this amazing industry. She truly believes that solid technique combined with great passion, imagination, ambition, determination and self belief are the keys to becoming a great performer.
